Mars Mexico is located on four sites in Mexico extending from our petfood manufacturing facility and main office in Queretaro to three confectionery manufacturing sites outside of Monterrey, two in Santa Catarina and another in Montemorelos (100 km south-west of Monterrey).

Queretaro, located 200 km north-west of Mexico City, is a beautiful, colonial city known as "The Cultural Heritage of Humanity", because of its many well-preserved historic sites. Monterrey is one of the top three industrial cities in the country, with many exciting points of interest for both relaxation and work, including incredible sightseeing and a great urban infrastructure.

Mars Mexico in Queretaro began operations in 1994 and employs more than 450 associates. Our factory produces more than 200,000 tons of petfood per year in order to satisfy our customers' needs. The Queretaro factory is one of Mars, Incorporated's largest dry petfood plants and, in 2002, we received the Mars Award for being its most profitable dry petfood factory.

Our associates are Mars Mexico's most valuable asset and the reason why we put so much effort into creating a winning environment for them to work in. We have some of the most progressive policies and practices in Mexico, oriented towards associates achieving a balance between their work and home lives. Our objective is to support associates' well being as well as business efficiency.

All of our products are distributed throughout Mexico; and, having our brands present every day in every Mexican household is our goal. Our business has gained the number one position in the market; becoming the leader in the pet food and chocolate categories.

Mars Mexico manufactures a number of leading brands, including: PEDIGREE, WHISKAS, PAL, KITEKAT, CESAR, TRILL, ORAL FRESH BISCUIT and CATSAN. We also distribute throughout Mexico brands, such as: SHEBA, EXELPET, MARROBONE, DENTABONE, JUMBONE, SNICKERS, M&M'Ss, MINIS M&M'S, MILKY WAY, TWIX, CELEBRATIONS, SKITTLES and STARBURST. Our sugar confectionery business began operations as LUCAS in 1986. At that time, it was a small family business producing tamarind candies named PELUCAS. From those beginnings, LUCAS are now producing and exporting such brands as BOMVASO, ACIDITO, GUSANO and SWINKLES. In 2001, after fifteen very successful years of product innovation and development, the LUCAS business was acquired by Mars and is now integrated into our business portfolio.
